FAQ

What is an AI game maker?

An AI game maker is a tool that turns a text description, and sometimes uploaded images, into a playable game, often in the browser. General chat assistants can do something similar when you ask them to write a game as a single HTML file.

Do these prompts work in Google Labs Playground?

They are written for AI game makers such as Google Labs Playground and for general LLM chat assistants, in plain language those tools generally understand. We have not tested them inside Playground. We did test one prompt per genre with a general-purpose AI chat model (one try each, single HTML file): 15 of 16 gave a game that started and responded to input on the first generation; see How we tested. Every tool behaves a little differently, so expect to adjust wording and use the follow-up recipes. This library is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

Which other tools can I use them with?

Any AI tool that can generate games from text, including general chat assistants that write HTML and JavaScript. For chat assistants, add 'in one self-contained HTML file' to the prompt, save the result as an .html file and open it in your browser.

Are the prompts free to use?

Yes. Use them, modify them and build games with them, including games you share. Please don't republish the library itself as a collection on another site or in a product.

Can I sell or monetise games I make with these prompts?

Our prompts don't restrict that, but the AI tool you use has its own terms about ownership and commercial use of what it generates. Read those terms, and make sure you have the rights to any images, music or text you add.

Why did my game come out differently from the description?

AI generation varies from run to run and between tools. Use the follow-up tweaks and recipes to adjust one thing at a time, and include 'don't change anything else' in each follow-up.

How do I fix a game that doesn't work?

Describe exactly what you did, what you expected and what happened, and paste any error from the browser console. The bug-fix recipes cover the most common problems, such as falling through floors or running too fast on some screens.

Are the games suitable for kids?

The prompts avoid graphic violence and adult themes, and the educational section is written for children's learning. You are still responsible for checking what your tool generates, including any facts or text, before sharing it with children.

Can I upload my own drawings or photos?

Many AI game makers support image uploads. Use images you created or have permission to use, prepare them as transparent PNGs with one subject each, and check the tool's terms about uploaded content.

What's in the Pro pack?

The Pro pack adds 30 fill-in-the-blank master templates with worked examples, 12 step-by-step build recipes with checks and fix prompts after each step, a 40-prompt bug-fix guide organised by symptom, 20 art-direction briefs with image preparation advice, and a full design and launch checklist. It's sold separately; this free library stays free.

Who made this library?

CyberMax, an independent publisher of tools and guides. All prompts and guides are original writing.

Will you add more prompts?

We plan to update the library over time; the version number and date at the top of the data show the latest update.
